Fuel Performance Deluxe Power Cage Review

Okay firstly, we really like this power cage from Fuel Performance. But has the word “deluxe” ever been more incorrectly used than this?

View Price

This is a bare bone, proper power cage with no bells and whistles. Nothing wrong with that at all, in fact we see it as a benefit in this case but calling it deluxe is a step in the wrong direction in our opinion.

Anyway, let’s get on with the review. In this article we will be taking a proper look at the Deluxe Power Cage from Fuel Performance.

Taking a look at all of the ins and outs, before summarizing so that you can make up your own mind on whether this power cage is ideal for your specific needs.

What We Love About the Fuel Performance Deluxe Power Cage

The colour scheme for the Fuel Performance Deluxe Power Cage is one of the first things you’ll notice.

A lovely dark grey and electric blue combination. The frame is constructed from steel covered in a powder-coat finish to increase the durability.

The top of the cage has a lovely looking pull up bar on it, there are also racks for Olympic plates at the base of the cage.

We’d recommend using these as they will help to increase stability even further by weighing the cage down. It’s also tidier that way!

The weight capacity for this cage is 500lbs, which is really decent. More than 95% of lifters are going to be able to deal with.

You need a proper Olympic Barbell for this cage, but any other form of barbell is sub-par anyway, so we’re not counting that as a negative.

The safety catchments are vivid blue and are very easy to adjust. Most importantly of all, they are clearly well-made which means that you can trust them to hold your barbell safely.

What We Don’t Love About the Fuel Performance Deluxe Power Cage

The only real downside to this power cage is the complete lack of accessories.

This power cage is perfect at what it does, and anyone who focuses solely on the big lifts (squats, bench, overhead press, rack pulls) will be more than happy.

But these days, many power cages contain lots of accessories that can massively improve the cage. We’re not seeing any here!

A dip bar would have been nice, a landmine attachment, a couple of push up handles. These are just suggestions. They aren’t really criticisms.

Final Verdict

The Deluxe Power Cage from Fuel Performance is a thing of beauty. It is a very high quality power cage, no more, no less.

If you are looking for a power cage that does the basics perfectly, then this is the power cage for you.

If you are looking for a power cage that has hundreds of attachments and can be used for 50+ exercise variations, then there are other power cages that may suit your needs better.

For the price, this power cage is amazing value for money, and will last you decades.
