Smith Machines are very popular in gyms the world over, they are safe, multi-functional, and very durable.
Smith Machines are perfect for small gyms, personal trainer studios, and even for home gyms.
In this article we are going to take a look at seven of the best Smith Machines that are currently available to buy.
Smith Machine #1: ALTAS Strength AL-3000F Multi-Function Smith Machine

This Smith machine has absolutely everything that you could ever want in a Smith machine.
Sure it has the regular bar for you to perform your bench presses on, as well as incline presses, shoulder presses, rack pulls, and whatever other exercise you want.
But it also has numerous attachments.
A set of pull up handles, a seated row, cable stations, dip bars, and all the handles and attachments you need to complete a full body workout.
Smith Machine #2: Body Solid Series 7 Smith Machine

After the last Smith machine, the Body Solid Series 7 Smith machine looks a little bare!
There are no cable stations, no seated row, no pull up handles, no dip bars.
What you do have is a high quality, durable Smith machine that comes with 255lbs of rubber grip plates, and hooks that allow you to use it like a regular power rack.
This is perfect for people who just want to perform regular compound lifts and go heavy.
Smith Machine #3: FORCE USA Monster G3 Power Rack, Functional Trainer, and Smith Machine

This is not a Smith machine, this is a power rack, functional trainer, and Smith machine all rolled into one!
It’s incredible, FORCE USA have clearly looked at every single piece of home gym equipment that their competition sells and combined them all into one piece of kit!
The Smith machine is well designed, but that is just the start.
You have a multi-grip chin up bar which will allow you to perform underhand grip pull ups, wide grip pull ups, neutral grip pull ups, and any other variation that you can think of.
There are cable attachments which you can use for chest flyes, tricep press-downs, or face pulls. There’s even a leg press setting!
This machine also works well as a power rack, meaning that you can perform regular bench presses as well as Smith machine bench presses (or whatever barbell exercise you choose).
There’s even a T-bar setting, which means you can perform T-bar rows, landmine squats, single arm shoulder raises.
We could honestly go on and on about this piece of kit, but there are other products to review! Check it out, it is truly amazing.
Smith Machine #4: Body Solid Powerline Smith Machine

After the last Smith Machine this Body Solid version is going to seem quite tame, but it is an excellent product in its own right.
Firstly, as a Smith Machine it does its job, with a good locking system, and a smooth movement.
You have more than enough space to place a bench underneath it and you’re not too cramped when exercising.
But there are some really cool additional features. Firstly, you have a pull up bar.
Nothing crazy so far, but you can detach this bar and use it as a lat pulldown machine! Amazing, and an ingenious design.
The sides of the Smith machine are also cable stations, and there is a seated cable row at the base of the machine.
An excellent all-round Smith machine.
Smith Machine #5: Marcy Smith Machine and Home Gym

This Smith machine by Marcy is very similar to the FORCE USA Smith machine, so you can already see why we’re excited.
This model has a very old school vibe running through it, not that this is a bad thing!
There’s a leg extension and leg curl function that older lifters will remember from the old York bench presses of the 80s and 90s.
But there is so much more.
A preacher curl bench, a cable station, a pec-deck machine, a seated cable row, and even power rack capabilities.
Allowing you to perform proper bench presses, bent over rows etc … This may not be quite as complete as the FORCE USA machine, but it runs it real close.
Smith Machine #6: Marcy Smith Cage Machine

Another Marcy Smith Machine, but this time a lot more traditional in design.
Stripped of many of the features that the previous model contained, this is basically a high-quality Smith machine with a few extras.
It still has a seated cable row, it still has power rack capabilities, it has an excellent pull up bar, and it has a cable station so you can do your chest flyes.
This machine comes with some excellent accessories and will provide you with a superior workout.
Smith Machine #7: MiM USA Functional Trainer and Smith Machine Combo

Our final Smith machine is from MiM USA and is a fantastic piece of kit. Intimidating almost!
You’ve got your multi-grip pull up bar, your dip bar station, your cable station, your power rack, and let’s not forget your Smith machine!
There is also a seated cable row (of course) and a T-bar set up.
The bench that it comes with is also gorgeous, easily the nicest looking of all the Smith machines we’ve looked at.
The design of this Smith machine is very impressive, with a bar stand at the back for you to put away your barbell after use, loads of spaces to place your weighted plates on between use, and an easily foldable bench.
While the Smith machine is large, it can keep all your equipment tidily, you’ll need space but it will look neat wherever you place it.
Final Thoughts:
All of the Smith machines on this list are excellent, high-quality products that will deliver fantastic workouts for you.
However, there is one that stands out amongst the rest.
The FORCE USA Monster G3 Power Rack, Functional Trainer, and Smith Machine combo is without a doubt the best Smith machine available.
If you have the budget for it then please jump on it immediately. You’ll be ecstatic with the results!
